11 Small Steps To Create A Fit Life

Want to start living a happier and healthier lifestyle so that you can live the best life possible and do what you love for longer?

I definitely want to!

We are in this journey together. And if you put these 11 steps into practice, you’ll definitely be able to get to that healthy state where you love who you are and what you do.

Step 1. One habit.

Take one thing that you want to implement into your life. Change up one habit at a time. Don’t overhaul yourself with a list of things that you want to start changing, because that can be too exhausting and easier to give up on.

Examples of what habits you could implement:

  • Walk 10,000 steps a day.
  • Drink 6-8 glasses of water a day.
  • No more eating out.
  • Only eat out once a month.
  • Make a coffee or tea at home instead of buying Starbucks.
  • Go to the gym in the morning before work.
  • Ride your bike to work in the morning.

Step 2. Have A Creation Bucket.

Get a tin (like a tea tin) and decorate the outside. Use colorful craft paper and stickers or even sparkles. Make it special.

  • Do some hand-lettering.
  • Do some squiggle art.
  • Listen to a webinar or podcast.
  • Pen and Ink.
  • Post-it-note art.
  • Listen to an audiobook.
  • Read some of a book.
  • Write a short story.

Step 3. Artistic Schedule.

Use stickers and markers to illustrate your planner. Everday draw something new in each date.

Step 4. Take A Walk While Listening To An Audiobook

A human being should get 10,000 steps a day. We barly get 10,000 a day when we sit at the computer or desk all day. So set an alarm to remind you to get up and move. Set it for every 90-120 minutes and try to move for 10-15 minutes.

Step 5. Avoid Snacks. Get Rid Of Junk Food.

I don’t know if this only happens at my workplace, but we usually have doughnuts and candy and pop all over the place. It can be so hard to say no to all that sugary yumminess.

Instead: get a bottle of water and everytime you think of the junk food take a sip of water.

Pro Tip: Pack your lunch bag with healthy snacks sectioned off into portioned bags. Think fruit and nuts. But make sure they are in portions.

Step 6. Get A Walking Club Started.

Do you have friends and co-workers who want to start being healthier? Get a walking club started. Set up a time during people’s lunch breaks and get your tennis shoes on and take a nice long walk.

Step 7. Make It Harder To Watch TV At Night.

If you have a TV in your bedroom, put the remote in the basement or in your car so it will take longer to do it. They say that if something is 20-minutes away it is sometimes too much work for a person to go out of their way to get something. Try it out.

Step 8. Set Up A Family Dinner.

Invite family and friends over for a family style dinner with healthy food options. Have each couple or person bring a dish to eat and share.

Step 9. Make A List Of Restaurants And Healthy Food Options That You Can Order.

Be ready and know what you are going to order before you arrive at the restaurant. Know how many calories it will take as well. I have a meal picked out in my mind for every place I enjoy eating at. It makes it easier so that when I go out to eat I know I don’t have to worry about going over my calorie intake goal.

Step 10. Park In The Back Of The Parking Lot.

Get more steps in a day by parking far out in the parking lots when you park at work and when you run errands.

Step 11. Go For A Morning Walk And An Evening Walk With Your Special Someone – (Aim For 10,000 steps a day!)

My fiance and I go for walks in the afternoon after work. We want to start waking up earlier so we can go for walks in the morning as well.
